Functional Movement Restoration

What is the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)?

SFMA is a series of assessment tools that are used by our doctors and therapists to rapidly determine whether your problems are most likely coming from the soft tissue, joints of the bones or a stability/motor control problem. Painful movement is NOT the only item to be assessed. Clinical decision making is based on movement algorithms.

What is the Functional Movement Screen (FMS)?

The Functional Movement Screen (FMS), is an assessment tool used for patients who are out of pain and are ready to have their movement patterns improved. Research has shown that whenever we injure ourselves our movement patterns change. These aberrant patterns can make us more prone to sports injuries and make our bodies less efficient in activities of daily living leading to earlier degenerative conditions of the spine and joints.

How do you correct movement patterns?

Dr. Oliver Trochta is a SFMA Level I and II trained and FMS Level I and II certified practitioner. He and athletic therapist Marc Henri St. Francois use the latest techniques in physical therapy. TRX and TRX Rip Trainer methods are combined with traditional ball and mat exercises that are incorporated into the patients active rehabilitation and functional movement restoration programs.

With our extensive level of field and court side experience, athletes of all levels, benefit from the one on one rehabilitation sessions. Exercises are electronically prescribed through our exercise apps, so that patients can keep track of exercises and interact with the rehabilitation practitioners.
